Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the actalcohol.co.uk website or book any service with ACT Alcohol Ltd (“Act Alcohol”, “we”, “us”). By booking a consultation or session, you agree to them.

1. About us

ACT Alcohol Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 11411121, registered office 20 Norbury Close, Lower Broadheath, Worcester WR2 6DY. We work from two therapy centres:

• Redditch Therapy Centre, 4 Clive House, Prospect Hill, Redditch B97 4BY

2. What we offer

We provide alcohol counselling and support, including a free 15-minute telephone consultation, individual sessions, partner and family sessions, a structured treatment programme, detox support and practitioner training. Our therapists work to the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

3. What we don’t offer

We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent medical advice, call NHS 111. If you’re struggling to cope, you can call Samaritans free at any time on 116 123.

Stopping drinking suddenly can be dangerous if you are physically dependent on alcohol. Please don’t stop or cut down sharply without medical advice. Our services don’t replace care from your GP or other medical professionals.

4. Booking

You can book through our website, by phone or by email. Before your first session we’ll complete an assessment with you. We may decide, after the assessment, that another service would suit you better, and if so we’ll help you find one.

5. Fees and payment

The free consultation costs nothing. Fees for other services are set out when you book. You can pay by credit card or bank transfer. If a third party, such as an employer or insurer, is paying for your sessions, you remain responsible for any fees they don’t cover.

6. Cancelling or rearranging

Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or move a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed, may be charged in full. We’ll waive this where there’s a genuine emergency.

If we have to cancel, we’ll tell you as early as we can and offer another time or a refund for that session.

7. Confidentiality

What you tell us stays confidential. The exceptions are when you agree to us sharing it, when we believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, or when the law requires us to. Where we can, we’ll talk to you before sharing anything. Our Privacy Statement explains how we handle your information.

8. Your responsibilities

Please give us accurate information about your health and drinking, and tell us about any changes. Please don’t attend a session under the influence of alcohol; if you do, we may need to end it early.

9. Ending sessions

You can stop sessions at any time. We may end or pause our work together if we believe it is no longer helping you, or if there is abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff.

10. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with our service, please contact us first at info@actalcohol.co.uk and we’ll respond within 72 hours. If we can’t resolve it, you can raise it with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the professional body we’re members of.

11. Liability

We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We can’t guarantee a particular outcome, because recovery depends on many factors. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

12. The website

The information on this website is general and is not medical advice for your situation. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but we can’t guarantee it always is. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we’re not responsible for their content.

13. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version in force when you book applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
